Finally finished the update I started back in December! If you’re curious who’s involved so far, how I’ve been getting @loop.straps off the ground, or you’re just a bit nosey… the latest update is live. Link in bio 🙂

Very happy with these titanium 20 mm tri-glides from @brautigamexpeditionworks It took me a very long time to track down this product in a size, shape and weight that would work for the ocean-sport environments I hope our straps will be used in. Fin

What is Loop?

Loop is an early stage watch strap brand built from recycled yacht, windsurf and kitesurf sails, designed and developed here in Poole, Dorset, UK.

It was created because the founder couldn’t sit idly by while more and more used sails were simply sent to landfill. Inspired by ocean activists such as Holly from Clean Sailors, René (that's me) set out to find a way to combine his passion for horology, ocean sports and sustainability into something genuinely meaningful.

Loop's founder-led, story-driven and rooted in local ocean sports culture, from the waters of Poole to the wider sailing and ocean sports community.

Founder led

Loop is founder led from start to finish. Every sail is sourced locally, selected by hand, and chosen for its character, strength and story. The design process is shaped by real experience on the water, led by someone who’s involved in the ocean sports scene here on the Dorset coast. From sourcing through to final form, each unique strap reflects first hand understanding of performance, durability and life lived close to the sea.

    We source 90% of the discarded sails and materials from local makers, keeping resources circulating close to home

  • Collaborate locally

    We aim to work with local sailmakers, clubs, universities and creatives to help shape every watch strap together

  • Craft responsibly

    We cut, stitch, stick and finish each watch strap with care, minimising waste and maximising durability for use in the ocean and beyond

  • Wear with intent

    Put it to work on the ocean, or on land, carrying the story, purpose and provenance with you daily as part of the community
